SPRING SESSION 2020
*CLASS DAYS AND TIMES ARE LISTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE.
MIXED-AGE CLASS- For hundreds of thousands of families worldwide, Music Together® is children and their grownups joyfully sharing songs, rhymes, movement, and instrument play, both in music class and in their daily lives. A pioneer in early childhood music and movement education, Music Together offers classes for children from birth through kindergarten, in which parents and caregivers actively participate.
All children are sounders and movers, and their natural aptitude for music blossoms in a sufficiently rich music environment. In fact, when given a supportive music environment, children learn to sing and dance as naturally as they learn to walk and talk.
How is this possible? Children learn differently than adults. They learn instinctively and constantly. They teach themselves through imitation and play, through being immersed in their environment, and through every interaction with adults and older children. The family-like setting of Music Together's mixed-age classes enables siblings to attend together, creating an ideal learning environment where infants, toddlers, and preschoolers can freely participate at their own levels.
BABIES CLASS- These classes are offered as a one-semester introduction to Music Together (this class cannot be repeated) for babies eight months and under. The music activities and materials are specially designed for parents who want to learn as much as possible about music development in babies. Meet other parents of newborns and learn some fascinating music activities you can recreate at home with your baby.
MUSIC TOGETHER SING SHALOM- The weekly parent-child music classes combine everything you love about the internationally recognized Music Together early childhood music education program with a carefully selected collection of familiar (and not-so familiar) Jewish songs from throughout the world. Music Together Sing Shalom classes introduce Jewish themes, holidays, and celebrate community through song, supporting parents and caregivers in introducing their children to a diverse, culturally rich Jewish heritage.
Music Together Sing Shalom classes are offered in partnership with local Music Together centers and are an exclusive offering of Music Together in collaboration with The Jewish Education Project. Funding for this pilot initiative is provided by UJA-Federation of New York. Check often to see if a class is coming to a community near you!
