Merrily Gechter- Center Director/ Certified Music Together® Teacher
Merrily is in her 12 year of teaching and directing Music Together With Merrily in Bloomfield Hills and Birmingham. She is a certified Music Together teacher and a certified early childhood educator. Growing up, Merrily was involved in local community theater, studied choral music throughout her schooling, and spent two summers at Interlochen Center for the Arts. After teaching in a first grade classroom for four years, and upon the arrival of her first of two children, Merrily pursued her career as a Music Together Center Director and teacher. Merrily is thrilled to bring her love of music and young children, as well as the amazing musical experiences Music Together has to offer to the community.
Kelley O’Rourke - Certified Music Together® Teacher
Kelley is a registered Music Together teacher, is a certified early childhood educator and has taught preschool through Pre-Kindergarten for several years. She is also certified in elementary and secondary education. Kelley presently teaches swim classes to children, ages infant through middle school, both privately and for Bloomfield Hills Schools. While growing up, Kelley was involved in Acapella Choir and Musical Minority at Dondero High School in Royal Oak. She went to college as a music major before switching her major to education. Kelley discovered Music Together while living in Princeton, NJ, where the home office is located, and went through the program with all 3 of her children. She is a firm believer that Music Learning Supports All Learning®. Kelley is excited to share her love of music with children and parents.
Karin Nanos- Certified Music Together® Teacher
Karin has over 20 years of experience working in special education, with 10 years of experience in inclusive education, 10 years as a speech pathologist (with a special focus on early childhood autism), and 6 years working in Early Intervention as an early childhood developmental specialist. She is trained in Music Together® and leads drum circles as a Health Rhythms Facilitator for people of all ages. Karin has a passion for connecting through music and for sharing her knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication with families who need tools to help their children who are not yet talking to express themselves. Karin is excited to share how music can be used as a valuable tool for communication with the Music Together With Merrily Community!
